Breeding Farm poultry

A poultry breeding farm is a facility that raises and breeds poultry to produce eggs or meat. The goal of a breeding farm is to produce fertile eggs and chicks with high hatchability.

How it works

  • Chick rearing: Chicks are raised on litter floors and fed and lit according to their needs.
  • Growing period: Chicks are restricted from overeating to improve egg production in layer breeders and to prevent obesity in meat breeders.
  • Mating: Cockerels mate with hens to produce fertile eggs.
  • Egg collection: Eggs are collected from nest boxes and transported to a hatching egg store.
  • Egg incubation: Eggs are incubated in a hatchery to produce chicks.
